Book Details

In this collection of thought-provoking poems, Prisca takes a jab at the terrible situation of underdevelopment her country, Nigeria. She attacked corruption, parochialism, nepotism and administrative maladies. She believes that a country with abundance of natural and human resources, such as Nigeria, ought not be a crawler in the comity of nations. The hopes of a better tomorrow in her country becomes a mirage which has continuously impinged on the standard of living of the citizens. The metaphor of wounds recoils the unending trauma of the people and the hopeless situations they find themselves in. The nation cries with her people who live daily within the climate of fears. When fear is permanent, it becomes an appalling situation without remediation. The hope for change can only come when the leaders fear their creator and understand the vanity of wealth and greed.
